Project Manager Position

Project Mission:

To develop a non-profit financial institution in conjunction with WHEAT, a local non-profit,  that serves the non-profit community and its clients. Services may include more affordable alternatives to high-priced payday loans, check-cashing and utility payment services and traditional banking products. Individuals will attend financial counseling work-shops to enhance their economic self-sufficiency.

Project Manager Job Description

Help plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the project to ensure that its goals and objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Duties: Along with project team, helps:

• Develop a workable business plan which will include market research, overall strategic plan including timelines, budgets and feasibility, risk minimization.

• Create and execute project work plans, identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.

• Manage operational aspects of the project and its scope. 

• Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

Experience Desired:

• Minimum Bachelors Degree or equivalent.

• Prior experience in managing projects in all phases from development to completion.

• While experience in financial institution management is not vital, a reasonable understanding of financial services operations and products is desired.

• Strong communication, organization and team-leadership skills.

• Ability to devote 1.5 to 2 workdays per week to project. 

• This opportunity will begin as a volunteer position and will transition to a stipend position as soon as funding is secured.
